CHUGIAK EAGLE RIVER SENIOR CENTER is recruiting for the position of Executive
Director. Chugiak Eagle River Senior Center is located in Chugiak, Alaska, part of the
Municipality of Anchorage. We are a growing non-profit organization with a current budget of
$3.5+ million and 70+ full and part-time employees. The ideal candidate will be a vibrant, smart,
energetic individual who will bring a growth-minded spirit to the multi-faceted programs and
business operations of our senior living community.
Summary: Under the direction and guidance of a volunteer Board of Directors, the Executive
Director is responsible for the planning, organizing, staffing, motivating, directing and
management of complex and busy senior center facilities, and ensures proper operational funding
for its programs. The Director also provides expertise on formulating and developing strategic
planning and operating strategies, as well as provides support and guidance in representing the
senior center to residents, clients, customers and governmental agencies.
Qualifications:
*Bachelor’s degree in business, health care administration, social services or related field
preferred. Coursework and/or experience in marketing and/or public relations a plus. Work
experience may be substituted for education at the discretion of the Board of Directors.
*Minimum five years of experience in upper management of a non-profit or social services
organization preferred.
*Experience or education in housing program administration and today’s issues facing the senior
populations.
*Experience in resource development, fundraising and knowledge of grant writing, accounting,
budgeting and financial management.
